Born April 12, 1870 in Warwick, New York (USA)
 
Died April 15, 1935 at Graymoor, Garrison, New York (USA)
 
The first child of Francis Steele White and Annie Mary Wheeler, she was baptized Lurana Mary White in Christ Church, Warwick on June 22, 1873.
 
    Studied at Warwick Institute, Seven Gables, Bridgeton, New Jersey, Saint Agnes Academy, Albany, New York.
 
    Entered the Anglican Religious Community of the Sisters of the Holy Child October 17, 1894, Albany, New York.
 
    October 3, 1898 she meets Rev.Wattson at her home for the first time.
 
    October 7, 1898 Lurana and Rev. Wattson exchange crucifixes and receive the "Covenant texts" of God's pledge of faithfulness to the two founders.
 
    On December 15, 1898, together with Fr. Paul James Francis Wattson, an Episcopal priest, she made the first foundation at Graymoor (the Dimond House at Garrison, New York) of the Society of the Atonement, comprising Franciscan Friars and Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement.
